Imagine discovering the perfect location to put down roots, only to find that the house of your dreams falls short of your envisioned ideal. What do you do? Embark on a remodeling journey! Innovative Home Renovations’ clients in Seattle’s View Ridge neighborhood challenged the company’s definition of remodeling by undergoing a comprehensive style transformation of their entire home, alongside a complete renovation of their detached garage.
To enhance the flow in the main home, we removed an entry closet, resized the office, rearranged the powder room and pantry, and relocated the kitchen where the living room once stood, allowing the kitchen to take on more square footage. Moreover, we widened the entrance from the dining room to the kitchen and introduced French doors to expand the connection to the backyard. Adding an exterior door on the side of the home facilitated convenient access from the driveway. Throughout, we replaced all carpet flooring with easy-to-maintain hardwood floors in a rich chocolate stain. Notably, the primary bathroom underwent an impressive transformation, as we removed an outdated jacuzzi corner tub and unsightly vanity sprawled across one entire wall.
We molded the once 1990s aesthetic into a modern 2020s look for the design. Noteworthy additions on the main level include stunning office built-ins, expansive windows, and the remodeled powder room.
The powder room is filled with unique elements from the floating Carrara marble sink to the burnished brass fixtures, the captivating gold arched mirror, and the floral cobalt wallpaper.
With the new kitchen occupying the former living room, we could now take advantage of the towering bay windows for an ideal sink view. A central island in rift cut white oak paired with sterling gray surrounding cabinets creates a crisp appearance, uniquely mixing natural tones. Inside the cabinets are an array of innovative storage options, such as a rollout tray under the sink, deep appliance drawers, spice pullout racks, and utensil organization. Black soapstone countertops resist bacteria while aging beautifully over time with natural patina. Gorgeous handmade backsplash tile in a muted clay color complements the stainless-steel hood and evokes a comforting feel.
Tranquility meets boldness in this petite guest bath. We incorporated a 36" vanity and a curb-less shower that dominates the entire south wall to optimize the available space without changing the footprint. Black penny tiles introduce an edgy allure while maintaining a minimalistic aesthetic, creating a captivating contrast against the custom sage-colored vanity.
In the primary bathroom, we introduced a 72" black walnut vanity offering ample storage and warmth to the white bathroom. Luxurious marble on the slab shower walls and hexagonal flooring create a sophisticated ambiance. California Faucets brass plumbing fixtures are integrated throughout, with special emphasis on the floor-mounted tub faucet next to the inviting soaking tub.
The transformed garage serves as a versatile oasis, offering a dedicated workout area, entertainment space, bathroom, and vibrant kitchenette. With the addition of moveable NanaWalls, the space seamlessly connects to the backyard for total outdoor comfort.
This newly remodeled home exudes a contemporary yet down-to-earth feel that resonates with the homeowner's personal style.
