Lifelong friends, Aaron Mounsey and Trevor Johnson owned separate painting and contracting companies and were consistently working together on various jobs. In 2014, They joined their forces and established Blackwood, initially operating from a small warehouse with only 6 employees and delivering 4 homes during that first year. Their shared vision was to address the unmet demand for well-designed, high-quality housing that met the needs of Seattle's growing, diverse population.

As housing demands have risen, Blackwood has expanded to become a company with over 50 employees, delivering more than 100 homes annually. Blackwood's design aesthetic is inspired by the Pacific Northwest region and its natural environment. Our work reflects a modern and trendy style while maintaining a unique architectural profile that fits well with the area's landscape.

We also place a strong emphasis on community and strive to give back whenever possible. Blackwood has two primary goals: to construct homes that exceed market standards in terms of quality and to outpace our competition.
